Default Strange clunk when i set off

Hi guys,
When i leave the car for about 6-8 hours, i hear a strange clunk coming from almost directly under me (maybe drive shaft?). I'm sitting in the car.

The car wont move for a split second, then its fine. once i park up again and set off, i don't have this problem.

It only seems apparent when the cars been standing over night or at work all day. The cars an MY00. Maybe im being silly and theres nothing wrong??

Does anyone have any ideas? I'd appreciate input.

Thanks in advance.

Binding parking brake - if it's wet, I usually leave the car in gear in my garage and chock a wheel to avoid this.

As above its just the brakes and mines does it too. Don't worry about it or just leave it in gear only if you are concerned.

Binding brakes is the most likely cause as has been said above.

The other outside possibility is that the bolts on the rear hubs need replacing re-torqueing more tightly than the factoty fitted originals - quite a common (easily and cheaply) remedied S2000 problem.

This manifests itself a 'clunk' when setting off, but is rather more persisent than your 'clunk' seems to be!

Mine does it a lot too. Just park in gear, if you park somewhere flat enough.

Definitely parking brake. I get the same 'clunking' (tech term) from beneath my S when I've hosed underneath whilst washing car and left to stand for a few hours.

Cheers.
