Default Straps in the boot????

Ok - a silly question, but I can't for the life of me see what the pair of little nylon straps are for in the well in the boot, they seem a bit small to tie down luggage... Could they be to secure a punctured tyre if you have to use the spare?

Got it one mate, and you didn't even have to ask the audience

They're also handy for stopping your umbrella from denting the boot panels.

I think it explains this in the manual.

Also useful for :

1 Securing a warning triangle in a case
2 Securing a torque wrench in its case (to make sure your nuts are on right)
3 Tie the straps up tight and wrap a bungee between the two, to secure a heavy object (eg battery starter pack) to the back of the boot.

Err... that's all I've ever used mine for.

Not much use if you've got to open the boot, then undo the straps to get at aforementioned illegal implements.

Yes it's just you.

More prosaically - mine hold a foot pump
