Default stuttering engine

I just drove from Liverpool to Northampton, pulled into a garage for ciggies and when I pulled off my engine seemed to be stuttering with a lack of power,

Pulled into my hotel, 1/2 mile down the road, and checked the engine, it ticked over fine, and revved freely at a standstill, it ran completely fine on the journey.

any ideas what just happened?

did I just get the dreaded heatsoak?

Yes mate it sounds like it, standard behaviour. Very annoying. A good intake with enclosed filter and cold air feed all but eliminates it

Sounds like battery problems, was it when you actually flicked the ignition?

Very unlikely to be heatsoak - this only really occurs when sat in traffic or pulling away, not when slowing down. I rarely experience it - all that's required is to feel what the car is doing as you pull away.

No need for intakes and enclosed filters.

I have not driven the car since I got to Northampton, I'll take it for a spin tonight,

I work for Carlsberg so I am at the Northampton Brewery this week.

The 'stutter' did not happen as I was slowing down, I had stopped and turned the engine off, went in a shop, came out and when I restarted the car and pulled away I felt it, a stutter and a loss of power. As I mentioned before until the restart it had run perfect.

I hope it is nothing to bad, I have to get back to Liverpool on Friday.

Ah, sorry, I misread you post. In that case, see this post from the FAQ: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/301...st__p__5798522
