Default Super Unleaded

Its looking like the main petrol companies in Ireland are not going to sell super unleaded . They say there is not enough sales and the government charge too much extra excise on the petrol.
To get to the point what affect on performance and the engine does using 95 octane petrol.
I'd appreciate the help.
thanks

Does it matter what difference it makes if you can't get hold of it?

My understanding is that it makes a noticeable but not overly significant drop in performance.

You can get an octane booster to add to the petrol as you fill up.

I think the current recommendation from Honda is 98/97 normally or 95 in an emergency.
I'd contact them and ask for advice.

Roadkill used 95 on Arran for a couple of years with no problems IIRC.

I've read on here that you have to be careful with octane boosters (?)

As I understood it, 97 was required for 99-01s, with 95 being a last resort if required in an emergency, but that 02s onwards are quite happy to run on 95, but obviously get better performance from 97

IIRC (and I haven't checked), the instructions on the 04 fuel flap say 98 (in big writing) and 95 (in small writing) for short periods, or words to that effect.

We all know the S will run on 95 quite happily, but I wonder whether there's any warranty issues.
