That dreaming unfortunately.

Mark (MB) on here has explored that avenue.

I think 300bhp NA is achievable but it needs alot of money and alot of work.

The only way you will hit 300 on an na engine is boring it out and adding cams, and good bolt ons and probably itbs.

I have cams fitted as of yesterday, and interestingly we think we've found we cannot get any more out of the engine no matter what we do on the intake and outlet side. I have an intake which outflows ITBs and we are barely getting any more power.

Simply need more engine capacity to reach figures like 300. It's impossible with a 2 litre on a respectable dyno.

Go big or go home

Just to add, a standard S2000 would dyno around 220 ATF, and I think we squeezed 245 from mine on a hot day. Getting 80 bhp would be very hard even with a 2.2 and a load of mods. You'd need a sorted 2.4.

As an example on a turbo car like a Evo 8, getting 60 bhp would involve raising boost pressure from 1 to 1.5 bar, bigger fuel pump, downpipe, intake and a remap. So you can see just how hard this would be on an NA engine which is already fairly well maxed out.

The standard S2000 injectors won't flow 280bhp either.

Wow really good info here, cheers guys. I have very little experience with messing around with s2ks and was curious to see what my options where. It seems clear to me that if I want 300 bhp then I need a charger of some sort. Am I being greedy at 300 bhp? I want something manageable with a bit more pull at lower revs. Any recommendations on a charger, or what chargers are even compatible with the s2k. My friend owns a salvage yard so I might be able to lay my hands on a charger if I can pull one from another car maybe???

Thanks again

How deep are your pockets?

You can make anything fit if your prepared to spend the money and time.
