Well said Anthony.

Perhaps an anonymous poll on the issue would help, just 2 options:-

Keep route or change route

Keep it open until Saturday, go with the majority.

I don't want to see you have to do even more work, you've done so much Pete (but then it's debatable whether you'd consider another weekend drive in Wales work ). I don't mean to offend, but is this partly to do with the treatment you've had from the boys in blue recently?

I don't want to get into a big discussion on whether I think the route should be posted on the internet or not, it's for Pete to decide, but maybe a poll may help guage feeling amongst those who are going to the meet.

Not having been on a meet like this before, I'll bow to you guys superior knowledge of the risk of somebody lurking on the list with intent

Just seems a shame given the work you have done here Pete to have to make such a change on what looks like a fantsastic route.

Oh well, wherever we go in Shropshire / Wales will be great so certainly no issue here.

Having a few meets under my belt, I know from experience that people drive a bit faster than they normally would. It would be a terrible shame for the day to be spoiled by a very well placed speed trap.
I'm in total support Pete.

I did raise some concern very early on when planning for the Supermeet had just got under way, but I believe that whatever we do we will attract the attention of the wooden tops from the moment we arive enmase in Shrewsbury.

So in my humble opinion we may as well stay on the published route.

Also where on earth are we going to find lunch for up to 100 people without prior notice?

I also hesitate to say this but I feel that whatever route, if we exceed urban speed limits in villages/towns ect even with small groups on the same route we will have the curtain twitchers on the phone to the wooden tops faster than a F1

Well Chippo just said it all!

Consider this though..

I THINK there are 14 S2000s in this picture. (We were waiting for 3 others) The Supermeet is going to have 4 times that number of cars. Imagine them strung out at six car lengths or so!! It will indeed be a sight to behold! Of course they're going to get attention. Now I'm sorry if I offend anyone here, but starting this venture out as though it's some cat and mouse game with the cops is going to end in tears for someone! If anyone thinks they're going to slide around some alternative route avoiding being seen.... Come on!

I don't buy some massive plot of the Gendarmerie laying in wait although I accept entirely the experience of Steven and his advice was I'm sure well-intentioned. The guys who got done in his convoy were speeding anyway!

It shouldn't matter a sod anyway if there's a cop on every corner with a radar gun if everyone just takes it easy in the restricted areas.

Now...... for fvck sake just enjoy the day ! And some of you guys really ought to just learn to accept friendly advice in the spirit in which it's given!

Pete

I fully understand your concerns, but at the end of the day it's up to the individual to exercise restraint, drive responsibly or risk getting nicked, as we do every day we drive our 'devil cars'

Whatever you decide, you have my support, as you have taken so much of your personal time to arrange this meet. I'm sure we will have a fab week end whatever

Looking forward to it, and now really pi$$ing people off by continually talking about it sad or what????
