We talked about this some time ago.

I suggested that the 'slow' group set off first, with the intermediate group setting off 10/12 minutes later and the 'fast' group 10 minutes or so after that. Over the 85 miles to Portmeirion, that means we should all arrive pretty much together.

If the fastest group goes first, then the last of the slow group will arrive at Portmeirion some 30 minutes behind and may miss out on some of Portmeirion's delights.

Indeed, throughout the whole run, if the slowest group sets off last, they will always be playing "catch-up" and, at some stops, the 'fast' group may be leaving even before the 'slow' group arrives.

I know some people wanted me to take the faster group off first, but I think this will be to the disadvantage of those who wish to drive at a more leisurely pace.

I would like us all to be at each stop for pretty much the same length of time; does everyone agree?

I will be at the head of the 'fast' group (and therefore will ensure that no-one gets "up the exhaust pipes" of anyone in front of us)

So, to save time organising on Saturday morning, are there any volunteers for leaders of the intermediate group and the slower group?

I will probably go for the inter group, and don't mind leading if nobody else volunteers.

I`m not sure how I qualify for which group. I`m happy in the slow if no one else wants to be there!

I reckon you'll still need to go over 8000 rpm though Colin!!

I think this is a good idea. As I will be flying solo this time it will be easier to follow someone who is not out to set a new land speed record

Ok, so that's

cheshire_carper off first, leading the "VTEC sometimes crew"

AlexC off next, leading the "VTEC often group"

PWE 896 off last, leading the "VTEC always brigade"

Thanks, guys.... that's another issue sorted

I don`t honestly think I can accept the front position. I`m still quite new to this and my wife will go mental if a whole team of people are relying on her co-pilot skills.

Her actual comment last night was `I`ll do it, BUT I`m not at the front, no way`.

So somebody else needs to be at the front of VTEC sometimes crew. I want to sit in the pack....

Sorry!

Having just received Pete's e-mail re mobile speed traps, it might make sense for each leader to be someone who has a radar detector, which I haven't got round to purchasing yet - unless somebody wants to lend me theirs for the day? : thumbup:

With regard to arguments with the navigator, Heidi and I have been watching the Honda powerboat racing on Saturday mornings C4, which involves some couples, and it has been hilarious seeing the arguments between hubby driver and wife navigator - may provide further entertainment for all
