Default tct fixed

Had a attempt at doing the tct chain tensioner today and must say what a difference engine sounds perfect now none of that nasty embarrassing noise.
Very easy job to do I dont normally touch things to do with machanics other then filter or spark plug change. My mate was suppose to help me do it but couldnt make it so I decided to have ago myself going by the youtube video and online guide. Didnt take the airbox out as I really didnt want to and found it no problem so glad I never now. I would nevet waste time taking the box out first no need aslong as you got small screwdriver and socket set which most people proberly will.
Anyone thinking of doing it go ahead and dont waste your money buying a new one.

I would never touch another mans car incase something ever went wrong I cant get blamed seriously have a go all you got to do is take it out 2 nuts and I just got a small drill with a sander on the so called worm sanded the edge of the piston as couldnt get in that part . Put it together and job done . You need that bolt tho not sure what size now to wind the piston in . All very easy. Easier then it looks actually and like I say no need to pull airbox out for more room
You will be proud you done it and you will want to keep starting your car up to see how sweet it sounds

I did mine this afternoon as well. Not driven the car yet but I think it's made a difference after a quick engine startup

This was the YouTube video I used.

5mx10mm - 0.80 pitch, and don't forget the nut.

Edit: its actually 70mm-100mm rather than 10mm.

Did mine today as it was incredibly noisy.

Was dead easy, straightforward and had it done in no time.

The difference is astonishing, quiet as anything now

This is next on my jobs to do list.

Fitted my K&N FIPK and it sounds amazing with the exhaust mod, until it comes to stopping for traffic lights then the dreaded tick tick rattle of the TCT rears its head!

Has anyone used sandpaper to rub their worm gear? If so was it effective?
