Technical knowledge on the UK board
A few threads recently have gotten me thinking about the level of technical knowledge on the UK board.
If someone wants to fit a spoiler and alloys there no end of "experts" but when it comes down to something oily it all seems to go quiet, with only a regular few posting.
The UK board does seem biased towards bling experts rather than out and out mechanics, so in a vain attempt to gauge where the knowledge lies please vote and discuss.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, as they say.
I voted for the first one
Although I can maintain a car in terms of fluids, tyre pressures, filters etc...that's about it really.
Not only is it not knowing the ins and outs, it's a lack of confidence in applying the little knowledge I DO have in those areas as well. Ie I'm reasonably sure how to install an amp for example, but I'd rather pay some dosh to get it done and know (presumably
) that the car's not going to electrocute me the moment I turn the key

I chose the Zaino option of the above. Somethings I do know about but I wouldn't say it's a wide encompassing knowledge when we have the likes of Brian Marshall
knocking around.
However I am a subject matter expert on the S2000's carburettor

I get fed up after a couple of coats of zaino, especially as it'll be dirty again within a few minutes of driving it, and as for maintenance, if I try anything I'll most likely end up trapped beneath the car.
I'll stick to checking coolant, oil and tyres...
