Default Tegiwa Intake fitting

Evening all

Got my eyes on one of these, though I am put off slightly by when it says OEM framework needs cutting unless one has a mugen bonnet

Anyone have any pics or guides on how to do it?

Please refrain from the badge whoredom and it being a cheap naff copy of the J's Racing setup. Ta!

Regards

Tom

Seeing the internal bracing on the bonnet, I can't imagine it's more than a 20 min job.

I was under the impression that the Tegiwa intake is a Mugen rip off?

If so, there are plenty of guides on how to fit this intake. An old member called Amuse Boy had posted the mugen fitting instructions online but now the site is offline

Oh BTW; it's a 3-4 hour job if you do it properly

It's a quick enough job with the right tools. 30 minutes of cutting with a good deemed and reinforced cutting disk.

Loads of pictures on this site of various installs. What takes the rest of the time is removing the bonnet, cleaning off the cut and making good. I've done a few and we painted the area (primer under the cut area) and trimmed the edge with rubber. After that you have to refit the bonnet getting it to line up properly. Nothing hard but take your time.

You literally need to just trim the skin under the bonnet in the area above where the intake sits. I'll try to post a pic later on, Matt did mine in about 10 minutes

Pics of mine trimmed, mine was carbon so was a little tougher as it would have been very easy to send the grinder through it haha.

As said, I did Andy's above, metal one and it was a lot easier and took about 10 mins if that

HTH

Also to add, if you want one, pop up to Derby and I'll cut the bonnet and fit the airbox for £20
