Has anyone else found this?

The other problem I have is that when I phone to get a quote it is about

Try the Direct Line and Privelege web sites - they use exactly the same quoting system (back end) as Tesco (cause they are all part of RBS group) but they have a different front end.

one option is to sign up for the 2002 model, and when the docs turn up, ring em and say the website must have made a mistake, and its a 2003, can they send the right docs ???

just look for small print that might say they'll charge you for doc changes??

StevenM: I will have a look at Direct Line and Privelege, but they might have a small problem with me only just turning 21.

Bonesy: I have been in contact with Tesco and they said they would charge to change the paperwork + I would loose the online 5% discount.

I can feel the my wallett getting lighter as we speek...!!!!

If you're only 21 then i would imagine getting insurance on a s2000 must make you wallet severely lighter! some companies (like my current insurer won't even quote unless your 30 (and i am 27).

AGW! I'm 23 and have posted on this topic Re. Ins. The good thing about Tesco is if you get a quote online then you should be eligible for cover. The downside as you mentioned- it's not a true quote and they love their price hikes. I had F*king grief. Let me know how you get on as I have a few good contacts if Tesco fail. Do you have NCD? Get a price for this covered also on the policy. Remember also to check payment options. Other ins.co's may be cheaper but they want the cash up front for the whole year!

AGW, when I first tried to insure with Tesco last year, the website kept going down and kicking me off. I called them to do it be phone and managed to persuade them to give me the 5% discount nevertheless, since I couldn't actually do it online. Might be worth a try?

Strange things are afoot on the Tesco web site!!

After speaking to them this morning, and being told that the website probably would not be updataed until next year. I re did the quote, and low and behold when i entered 2003 as the year of manufacture the S2000 GT came up in the list.

VERY WEIRED....!!!!!

Anyway this should mean that I can get my insurance for about

The secret is easy to be honest. All you need is:

1. Parent with insurance policy which is not in use but has full no claims discount on it.
2. Register the car in their name which means they are the main policy holder.
3. Insure yourself as the main driver on the policy.

Voila cheeper car insurance.

There are pro's and cons to doing it this way, but until I am 25 I will not be taking out my own insurance...!!
