I ring my local dealer (Amethyst, Cheltenham) to book an 18K service this morning. This is the first time I've been to a Honda dealer, having bought the car at 12k. We agree a date and time, and a courtsey car. I ask how much the service will be.

Her: "Well, the oil is expensive for an S2000, and you'll need plugs at 18k"
Me: "Plugs? At 18k? Don't think so."
Her:"Hang on, I'll check..... oh no - plugs at 54k"
Me: "So how much will it be then?"
Her: (Noise of air being sucked between teeth) "Weeeelll. let me see. Air filter, oil change, check drive belts, hmmmm. Should be about

Seems too high for an 18k. Thats more 27k territory.

They're trying it on. No Hondas get plug changes at 18k that I'm aware of. On the service schedules all models are at 27k except the S2000 which is 54k.

I'd go somewhere else. I drive 100mile round trip to get mine serviced as my local dealer is terrible

Its annoying that a lot of them try it on as a matter of course. They should be amongst the most respectable of garages out there but they're not (all).
