Default Think I've been sold a fake spoiler

Hey guys, long story short a dude was breaking his s2k on eBay and I wanted the oem spoiler. He said it was genuine honda so I purchased it, received it today and just doesn't feel like it's something out of a honda factory. Fitment of the panels which attach the spoiler to the car are a bit weird and the base from where the spoiler is bolted into the bootlid is made out of wood lol. This dude is still insistent that it is oem honda. What you guys think? Does honda use wood in their parts lol

Thank you for any help

Yes, pics please!

Sounds like a 'genuine fake'... but even those don't use wood!

Yeah Honda don't use wood.
It will also have the word Honda stamped on the underside of the spoiler somewhere.

It has S2000 stamped underneath if it's real

it goes right across the middle almost full width of the spoiler on the genuine article, it is impressed into the underneath.

PS nobody will ever know if you fix it correctly to the boot lid (assuming that is possible), and nobody will ever care, and so as long as the paint matches and you didn't pay too much for it, then I would suggest not to worry about it's authenticity but instead enjoy the wing

I'd use this opportunity to get some money off him for lying to you.

cheers for the replies guys, s2k_nut i paid pretty close to the going rate of the genuine article dude so i'm going to have to return this. yeah no sign of s2000 impressed into the underside lol but the splinters from the wood are the certificate of zero authenticity lol
