Default Thinking about coming back...

So...

I sold my 05 Moonrock back in Dec 2007, I'm thinking about another.

What is an 06+ gonna cost me?
I want a VSA'd car.

Just read the FAQ again, and it seems like 06 was the last major change to the MY ranges. 08 were cosmetic right?

Currently got a 2008 GTI Edition 30, but missing the 9k rpm

at a guess about 14-16K depending on miles etc. I would value my 57 plate with VSA at about 16.

I'm thinking of getting back in the fold too.

Do you really think you need VSA?

I had an 04 and thinking of going back to the same. Have £10k to drop and think a good 04 would fit the bill. Will be a summer hack for holidays and also for a few trackdays.

08 - 09 cars had the best suspension setup apparently.
Back to 02 spec.

An 08 or 09 car will feel very different to your 07.

My 07 rolled like a pig greased up in virgin goose fat.

I sold my S2000 - a MY05 ... and bought a Golf GTi Edition 30 DSG which I remapped very successfully to just under 300bhp.

The map I had only really got going at 4K and surged brilliantly to the red line. It wasn't 9K but certainly gave me the same sort of buzz.

I sold the Edition 30 about 2 1/2 months ago and bought a BMW Z4M Roadster because I fancied a convertible again and having had two S2000's thought a third may look stupid

Whilst I love the Z4M and it's involvement I do regret selling the Golf.

The Edition 30 in particular is a very, very capable car and with DSG was stupid easy to drive. The remap suited the car superbly and IIRC having seen you on other forums (in my case under I was under a different identity ) I think yours is remapped too so you will know what I mean.

Not trying to put you off another S2K but just remember the benefits the Golf has !!

This though from someone who ultimately loves convertibles and RWD and just didn't get that same buzz out of the Ed 30 I got from my S2000

Yep, I go by the same tag in most places John (you were?) lol

So, yes, my Ed30 was dyno'd at 326 and 346bhp, so somewhere above 300 anyway depending on which figures you believe.

Trouble is... the Golf is a capable car yes... but trying to be too many things I think.. ie a sports car/a family car/a motorway car etc

So I'm thinking of selling golf and going back to 2 cars for distinct reasons... fun car + diesel hatchback (golf/focus/astra).
