Default Thinking of making a comeback?

Hi Guys

A few of you on here may remember me from a few years ago, since then i've got my life back on track and am thinking of going topless again!!!

This time i don't think i'm going to go for a new one so i maybe looking to get an 03 GT but am undecided in the newer shape.

Obviously there will be a difference in opinion on the old v's the new, but is the newer version 04 as soggy as i've heard or is it still as good as the older version 00 to 03??

At the mo i have a 05 CTR (had an 02 CTR beforehand) which i've had for 6 months and really want to do some continent driving with my missus "roof down" style which the CTR isn't capable of.

Just after some Pros and Cons on the new and old.

Look forward to some replies.

Matt

Matt.

I saw you looking round the S2000 stand at JAE.

(Will you be going into production with your CF 'H' badges again? )

Welcome back Matt

(My handle has changed since you were last here - I'm the Artiste Formerly Known as Mark Turner )

You'll probably remember I had an 02 to begin with. I p/x-ed that against an 04. The 04 is a little more benign, but to say it's "soggy" would be a vast overstatement. Unless you're really pressing on, I can't say that I've noticed a huge amount of difference. I've certainly enjoyed it every bit as much as I did my first one.

TBH, the bigger determinant of whether you go for 99-03 or 04+ is likely to be your views on the restyling of the front and on the newer rims. And perhaps the amount you want to spend too.

Test drive an 04 before you make up your mind - decide for yourself rather than be swayed by anyone on here.

If you're after an older car, you won't do any better than CC's. He's on holiday this week but is back at the weekend.

welcome back!
Don't believe all the soft 04 crap!
I've had an 00 and now have an 04.
The reason they say the 04 is softer is Honda have applied different spring settings and modifed the rear wishbones. The rear springs rates are now actually lower than the fronts.

It does feel more comfortable but it does not affect the handling one bit.

I was with you on the looks of the two.
I like the 04 front but prefer the 99-03 rear

Chesh's car is mint though we are not sure how it reacts to water as it has never seen any for any lenght of time! It may just dissolve.

Obviously the former artisite's car is also up for sale and by far the better choice (coz I want the amuse off it )
