Default thoughts regarding lumpy start

During this cold weather my car is having real trouble starting - it often wont start on the first 7 second push, it pops and turns over, it will start on the second push, once started it continues to pop and feel lethargic and is very chug chug under 4k until the water temp has hit 2 /3 bars. I dont go beyond 4 -5 for the first 10 - 15 mins so i dont know what its like higher in the rev range.
Once warm its fine. during the summer months and milder morning recently its been fine.

Anyone have any ideas / experience ?

Car is running CTSC and AEM

A lot of people report difficulty cold starting on the AEM , myself included. Sometimes takes a good few seconds of cranking before it fires up on very cold mornings.

I don't have any problems starting but I have noticed the car running lean until it warms up.

I can remember Mase telling me not to turn the key and immediately press the start button. I always wait until after my AEM gauges sort themselves out.

Faulty MAP sensor? Spark plug change due?

I have a fujita V5 which is very similar to the AEM, and never have any problems starting her on cold mornings.

Im afraid its a case of process of elimination

What AEM is it, there are known problems with the 1012 which have been resolved in the 1052, however it could be down to the tune.

Prob just no signal from the lambda until it heats up / springs into life.
