Default Throttle bodies? Etc?

Who are the main S2000 tuning companies in the UK?

Are throttle bodies available?

(short of sticking on a supercharger) Are S2000's tunable?

Thanks for your reply.

#1) As a prospective owner, I would like see what upgrades are available and the associated costs

#2) Can you point me to a tuner which would perform an ITB conversion? So I can look at the price etc? Do ITB work well with the S2000 do you know?

#3) Thanks

It really depends on what you want out of the car, and why you want to tune it. What type of cars are you used to driving, what are you looking to get out of the S2000? Probably worth getting the car first, or at least test driving, or getting some passenger rides (where are you based?) then deciding what it is you want out of the car.

It is highly tuned from the factory in its standard form, so you get very little gain through exhausts, CAI, ITB's etc. You have to spend a LOT of money to get anything extra worthwhile out of the car, horses wise.

Take a look on http://www.s2kuk.com in the Benefits section there are a lot of suppliers who offer discount to S2KUK members (separate membership to this forum).

Hope this helps somewhat

What do I want out of the car? Mostly, I am after a "drivers car", but would like some luxuries - I have been considering a VX220 Turbo, - although for a daily driver I think I will end up appreciating something not quite as hardcore, - so here I am researching the s2000.

Without wanting to sound like a boy-racer, if I were to get an S, I would very probably lower it slightly and upgrade the exhaust and air intake, as sound is v important to me, as is the handling.

I am a little 'concerned' with the S's power however. I am used to turbo-charged cars, and am worried that the S may feel a little sluggish...? I have read comments from people saying they get fed up having to constantly shift down, wait for the vtec, and continually having to rev the nuts out of it to get the power out of it.

I live near Guildford in Surrey.

Thorney Motor Sport have recently developed throttle bodies for the N/A vx220 and it adds around 30bhp, not to mention the noise and drivability, I was wondering if there was similar available for the S. I did search, but only found threads which were 3-4 years old.

Thanks again for your help

You'll need to get used to how the S2000 delivers power - stay in the vtec zone

Welcome along to the Surrey meet 2nd Tuesday each month - see Meets & Events, someone will take you for a spin and show you various cars and mods

That's got to be the best idea I think - either that or I'll get myself down Santa Pod next week...

Cheers

A good exhaust will totally change the character of the car and the noise it makes but unless you get a VERY good twin or a single exhaust you'll gain no power (even if you do, you won't get much). IMHO any intake system in the S2000 that doesn't feature a lot of carbon enclosure and a price tag of over

with all the above though IMHO a good supercharger addresses the power deficit without changing the character
