Ticking noise Help needed

Default Ticking noise Help needed

My car as started to make some sort of ticking noise when hot (also when i tapp the accelater it makes a ticking noise) and ive read on a thread some where that its realted to the TCT (timing chain tensioner)

if i dont replace it what damage can i do and how soon do i need to replace it

can anyone put up a link or shead some light thise way please or does any one have a uk part number and what sort of price im a looking at for those of use who have had it replaced before how easy is it to do or do i need a mechanic to do it

does any one have a picture of the part too thanks guys for your help

If you do a search on the forum under TCT, you will find umpteen threads with all the info you need and more....

Don't buy the part from Honda UK - it's a rip off. Alternatives are Rob at Garage R, or CFL Honda in the US.
The TCT is an odd one - at best it just makes youor car sound like a diesel beater, at worst, it can cause a cam failure as the chain goes. It's not an expensive or massive job to do - about as hard as changing brake pads and disks.

Thats a bummer Loftust, if you get hold of another to swap out mayby you ought to insist on send yours first?

That would mean their car is off the road though...not a practical solution for many

Mine makes a rattley ticky sound when I start the car from hot...but only lasts a second or two then stops. Is this the TCT I assume? Should I go about fixing it or will it do no harm?
