Default Tiny USB drive

Just finished installing my new Alpine head unit (Wobbly: Thanks for the vid, most helpful). I wanted it so I could play mp3's from a USB flash drive and had pretty much accepted that the cover would have to be down while it was plugged in, until I found a nice little solution.

The Lacie Moskeyto is a tiny stubby little USB drive that only sticks out 6mm when in place and I can confirm that the stereo cover closes with (a bit) of room to spare.

CLICKY

(It's the US site, but they're only a google away)

I know most people fit the iPod connector, but for anyone who share my irrational hated of anything Apple, it's a good solution.

Not a very exciting post, but hey.

Glad the vid helped I use a tiny Transcend memory stick which blends perfectly with the HU, much easier than faffing about with an iPod.

Think I'll be purchasing one of these for the head unit in my other car. It has the front mounted one like the pic above so at least it won't get knocked/snapped.

Chad.

You all beat me to it!

Never mind. Still pleased with myself for getting it fitted. Also surprised at how easy it all was (after a little battle removing the trim). The Incartec box of tricks is doing what it promised and I've got 16GB of music in the car, rather than a huge wallet of CD's.

Happy days (as soon as the snow/rain stops!)

Noticed something on mine the other day in usb mode. If you press the next track button on the dash controls it advances to the next track, keep it pressed down though and it advances to the next album/folder.
