The tonneau cover not only looks great, but it protects your roof mechanism from a load of dust on dry days (try a Jockmeet you'll see what I mean), and it cuts down on wind noise and buffeting.

Those of you who claim your can't put it on or say it takes ages, must be useless as it can easily be attached in about 30 seconds.

I use mine whenever I can be sure that it won't rain.

BTW There is a difference between between the early and later cars. The MY99-01 tonneau has four press-studs, the later one only has two, but they all work fine on any car.

Slightly off topic but has anyone found that a few of the pins become loose over time?

I've never used a tonneau cover so I assume it's the previous owners doing.

One of them is really loose on MY02. Is there any way of tightening them?
This is a massive job and I'd be suprised if they came lose as mine were impossible to remove.

Anyway if you want to tighten them up, make sure you have about 3 hours to spare.

Take out the roofwell trim, lower the roof, remove the rear panels behind the seats, unbolt and take out the entire rollbar assembly (do not try and prise the trim apart it is a sealed unit and you will break it.

You're absolutely right. The car looks excellent with it on and there is a significant reduction in buffeting.
Next time you drop your roof have a look at the amount of crap where the roof folds - protects you from all that.

That's why they think you're a tw4t.

I find van and lorry drivers get the most upset about me driving a topless car in the winter

I love the look of the S with the tonneau on - really smartens up the lines that can often be broken by having the roof down
