Brands is less than an hour for me although I'd prefer to do the 'full' circuit.

I prefer gras run off rather than 'get stuck' in the gravel types but will be up for it regardless ;) :)

When I attend track days I drive very much as I would if I were on the public road but with nothing coming the other way, no pedestrians, horses , numpties and speed cameras i.e never all that fast but fast enough to have fun

I am not saying that run-off isn't important just that I won't be pushing that hard. In my experience those who have 'off's have more often than not been drawn into a 'race' with another car and just over cooked it. I'll run at my own pace and generally stay out of trouble and have fun

When I went off (about 4 or 5 times :D), there was no one else anywhere near me and was defo not 'racing' anyone, just pushing the car to the limit, doing powerslides and generally seeing how the car behaves on or beyond the limit. At somewhere like Bedford this is easily and safely done. Somewhere with less run off I'll be more careful.

Dracoro, I went on the Evo track day in Feb at Brands. I had the same concerns about large solid barriers all the way around. But in reality I never felt at risk of hitting them once on the track. It is a pretty wide track (what are F1 drivers on about all the time?) and the dangerous corners are protected by kitty litter. It was dry when I was there; if it had been wet then it would have been a different proposition I'm sure.

The chance to go around a world famous track is second to none.

Go for it.

Danners.
