Default Top Mounts question

Hello,

Recently i bought 4 brand new OEM suspension units for my S. I bought them from e-bay from someone who replace them before even take the car on the road. The only thing is that the top mounts are missing. Most propably he used them with the aftermarket suspension. My question is:

Shall i keep the old top mounts when i will go to replace my old ones with the new ones or shall i buy new ones from honda? Are the top mounts parts of the suspension that wear during time or not?

Thank you in advance
Chris

If the rest of the suspension is new then I'd replace the top mounts unless yours are if first class condition.

My Bilsteins came with new rubber bushes to put in the top mounts. It appears the mount is just a bracket for the bush and the damper sits inside that - nothing particularly clever.

So obviously the rubber will degrade, so maybe you can just buy those?

Please check the site below. Do i have to buy 8 pieces of part with number 6 in the picture? Are these the rubber bushes you are talking about?

Shock part numbers

This is an excellent site you can use to find honda part numbers of any piece of your car

Looks like it yes. Check the front and rear are the same.

8? How many cars are you doing? I count 4.

From the picture it looks like there is an upper and lower (2 in total) rubber bush for each shock,so 8 in total. Am i right?

Ah yes, it does look like you need 2 per corner.

I can't remember to be honest, and mine weren't Honda parts so may have been different.

Should really also get number 18, as the nuts are usually only to be used once?
