Top up or down?
Hi there,
I've had my S2000 for a month now and I'm
. (Except coming home from Cambridge in the snow two weeks ago
).
But I was just thinking about when the weather gets really good and I'm out with the top down and I park up somewhere. Do I leave the top down or put it up? Do the motion sensors deactiveate when the top is down?
I don't think I'd like to go out of site of it with the top down but I'm wondering what others do.
Cheers.

Unless I'm only going to be a second, always up. I don't trust the more jealous, less cerebrally-endowed elements of society not to do something nasty to a sportscar left with the top down......
A bit of an indictment on today's society, isn't it?

A fellow Cambridge owner!
Tend to park mine with the top up, unless Im at the pub and I can see the car.
Talking of roof down, I've managed 11 out of 13 days this month having the roof down at some point during the day. Most fun was Sunday morning coming back down the A14 when it started raining, I just kept going and di not even get one spot of water on my glasses, it just goes over your head!

If i know the area then i'll leave to top down, but it doesn't take too long to close it !
To be honest the motion sensors that we have (the 2 black sensors a each end of the dash) are not very good when it comes to detecting movement in the car when the hood is down.
If the sensors are too sensitive, if the hood is down once you set the alarm press the activation button again on the key fob and this deactivates the internal sensors.
I have been to a few in-car specialists who have all said these type of sensors shouldn

I was washing my S once (yes it does happen....occasionally
) and when washing the hood, it set the alarm off! so the sensors do work! Had to run inside, find my keys (couldn't remember where I'd put them didn't help!) and turn the thing off!
If leaving with hood down, or pet in the car etc. then lock/arm and once again to turn off the motion sensors.
