Default Total recall

Having registered my Japanese import with Honda UK I got a nice email saying have a free spark plug recall - took this to my local dealer - got it done - then spent two months sending letter backwards an forwards as dealer couldn't find anyone in Honda who would admit to sending the original email. Eventually this got sorted

Go to another honda dealer for something else and find that it needs to oil jet bolt recall ( not mentioned by the other dealer)

If I keep going to new Honda dealers - presumably I will end up with a new car - total recall?

Someway to go yet! On top of the recalls you mention, I've had to have a new gearbox and new shock absorbers all round!

Mmmm well the gearbox or clutch is very noisy - I asked about the clutch design recall but this dealer insists that it's not relevant for Jap models - but all the symptoms fit - noisy on engine braking 5000-3000 rpm
Hope it's not the gearbox as it's out of warranty - it changes fine

RE: Clutch - ask them if its an 054 clutch fitted or the 055. If it's the 054 then it may need replacing. 055 ones are what they replaced them(well mine at least) with.

Doesn't matter if it's a jap model, if it's making noises, it's making noises! therefore something is wrong. Call HondaUK if they insist nothing is wrong (or try one other dealer first).

Seatbelt recall needs to have been done....and not to worry you but some early Japanese market (99) cars suffered ball joint failure(something like that) as well (sorted by the time first S2000's arrived in the UK, but may still well apply to greys?)

The recalls depend on the year of manufacture at the market. Mine is a Jap import and Honda advised that the clutch recall did not apply to this vehicle .

The car is in at the dealers atm for the plug and bung recalls, my new clutch to be replaced and a major service plus all brake pads.

I'm picking it up tonight and remortgaging the house tomorrow

I presume this only relevant to Jap imports?

So you register your japspec import with Honda UK and they do recall work for free? Seems very civilised.
My plugs have been sparking for 40K, what's wrong with 'em?
