Why not just buy a cheap car to do the towing? I don't understand why someone would want to do that.

if the weather is nice, on his drive home if the whim takes him he'll pop by his boat shed, and take the boat a mile down the road to the lake.

fair play to him.
this is the best part

guess what happens

Just because they say that you should not / must not tow with a vehicle does not mean that you cannot.

It seems to be fairly standard with sports/performance cars to specify "do not tow"
even if other similar body styles do support towing (BMW et al Coupe vs M3).

Fair play to the lad I say. It sounds like it was more of an experiment than anything else to prove it could be done if you wanted it to with the necessary modifications.

If you have the money to do it who cares? Some people treat their S's like some supercar. It ain't no Ferrari!
