Default Trolley Jacks

I'm a bit confused... again

Trolley jacks.. I'm looking for something relatively light and small that can be thrown in the car for trackday use but that is low enough to go under the S without the need for ramps or 2x4 etc.

The bit that's confusing me is the weight that they are marked up at; especially in the following ad's

For example; The Michelin and Sealey Aluminium ones are both down as being 20kg. That's 20 bags of sugar if I'm not mistaken. That is bloody heavy, especially for something that's supposed to be light and is made of Aluminium. Am I reading it correct. see these ads :-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Michelin-Racing-Tr...Q/ref=de_a_smtd

and yet this one made of Steel is advertised as being a mere 11.4kg

I've been working some very long hours lately and most of my posts of late have been from work, at weekends and on evenings.. so I am admittedly very tired atm and perhaps am seeing things all wrong..

It's not full alu, just the centre pience. Steel lifting bars by the look of it. Jacks are pretty heavy, even the little one I've got is prob 15kg.

IIRC Kartaphilos has the Sealey one for his car.
If you are lowered be careful on the clearance.
Lowest I could find was 79mm

Cheers chaps; I thought there was sommet fishy.

Poor show really advertising as Aluminium when in fact it's only a a few bits that are and in fact it weight twice what a small steel one weighs. You see the words Aluminium and instantly think it's going to be a lot lighter.

I'll buy a steel one I think and drive onto some wood to get the height.

Anyone beat this one for weight VS minimum saddle height; ie, something lighter with a lower minimum saddle height?

It's all very well, but if you CANT drive onto the ramps becuse you need to fix something you are stuffed.
May be best with a low height jack tbh.

I have to use the Honda Jack to raise the car slightly then get the trolley jack underneath.

I cant remember the name but it must weight about 15-20kg.
