When I took off my hard top there were a group of scratches like a scuff mark on the inside. A bit like someone had a go at cleaning it with a brillo pad.

Numerous plexus applications and its nearly gone, but the fine lines remain.... Im a little peaved because I had a muz mat in the roof well. It was the dealer who put the roof on so im not sure whos to blame, but its unfortuneate. Never mind though, the roof is hardly up these days. Ive only driven once with it up since taking the roof off, and that was because it was cats and dogs.

Does anyone unzip their window to fold it "out" in order to clean the inside surface. I find it a real PITA to get at in-situ

I have seen quite a few S2000's round and about over the last year - and the rear window seems to be almost perfect on 50% of the examples and totally crappy on the other half. The cars were of all ages. I think it just depends on the owner.

Mine was bad even after a few months as I was scared of touching it - then I got the Honda cleaner on it and it turned new again My colleague (who has a bad one) asked what I used as he wanted the same appearance for his Silver/red 01. I told him what the cleaner was and where to get it - after he did not do anything I even gave him my bottle of cleaner. One month later it's still sitting on his desk where I left it - so I guess that 50% of owners actually don't care.

edit - I don't unzip - I didn't know you could, I just flap my arms about inside the car.

That plastic zip is there as part of the install process and not meant to be used which is why it's taped over. Some owners have managed to carefuly unzip it several times. Others have broken it in the process. I'm leaving well alone.

I wouold be very interested to hear about anyone trying to get the rear window replaced in the UK.

I do all the usual sensible stuff - Muz mat from day 1. Very careful cleaning the window (it has its own sponge), I only clean it with up-down strokes, and I apply Plexus perhaps 1x per month - again, applies with super soft, 100% cotton towel (with seam stiching removed (even on 1000% towels, the seam thread is often poly/cotton - nasty stuff!!!). I wash the window (just rinsed off with warm water 2 or 3 times a week to ensure there is no 'grit' on it to cause problems when retracted.

Despite all of this care, there are distinct bands of scratches where the roof folds. I can imagine that before the end of the 3 yr warranty, it will be a bit of a mess.
