Im with the AA insurance.
True, i dont get a discount either for my tracker, but i do get a little discount for my cat1.
But, I have a tracker for my own piece of mind and it helps me to relax a little.

I tend to think you are right to have a tracker fitted. On the other hand you must be loaded with money to insure through the AA, they were the most expensive I had a quote from.

I believe also that you would loose the right to the private registration, as it belongs on the car which has not been recovered. I have listed this on my insurance as a modification.

Having had my last car broken into and the repair taking 20 weeks , I can only imagine the damage that would be caused if it was taken.

Therefore prevention rather than recovery is more important to me. The Blackjack feature on my Clifford seems to make much more sense than a Tracker.

What does the Blackjack feature do? And how does any alrm/immobiliser prevent flat-bedding?

With tilt sensors the alarm and immobiliser will go off, so at least drawing attention.

The blackjack is an anti car jack measure, without a code the theif will only be able to drive a couple of blocks before the cars slows to a stop . So you hand over the keys and collect the car a few hundred yards later, in theory.
