The F1AS2 is meant to be stiffer. Were yours the F1 ones?

Slightly stiffer sidewall much like the T1S the T1R replaced.

I've just put a set of Maxxis MAZ1 on the rear of my S2000. They were really quite cheap at about 85 each and I have to say are brill. I thought they would be pants (I was skint at the time I needed them for MOT) but I will be keeping them on there no problem!
