Default Uk Source for belt

Hi,

The fecking belt that drives the comptech SC had failed, it has split in half. I've only done around 1500-2000 miles on it - It might of been because the belt was too tight but I'm not sure.

Unfortunately trying to get hold of a belt in the UK is a PITA, does anyone know of any sources in the UK?

Its a Dayco Ribbed belt no. 5060390 i think gatorback do a belt no. 6PK0990 but not sure (Need to check this), I'm running a 4" pulley which yields just over 8psi at redline.

Cheers

Call any motor factors, such as CPA...they often have a variety of belts in stock.

Will probably do that Matt, hoping they can cross reference stuff - I'm thinking this could be another 'difficult to get hold of bearings' mission .

Surely must be used on other cars.

If you measure up the length, diamater, tooth type i'm sure somewhere in the UK can get one.

Be worth trying Dixon in the morning.

You can drive it carefully with no belt too.

I did if for about 2 weeks

Yeah, but 2 weeks worth of motoring in an S equates to about 1.2 miles for you

Agreed about the length/width/tooth type

This was when I was commuting

There's one on Ebay in the US for about £15 or so.

Surprisingly, the car doesn't seem to mind. I even VTEC'd a couple of times

Wouldn't advise it though! Gentle non open loop will be fine.
