Default UK spec wheel alignment

I had my car aligned according to the UK specs with extra camber, 1.2 instead of 1deg. Since then, am hitting the underneat of the car more often, either going in car park ramp or driving fast over an uneven surface. I do sometimes think that the tyres are hitting the arches too... Could it be possible that by an alignment the car got lowered so drastically..

BTW. Car is on standard shocks/springs and is an MY00

Cheers
Evan

The imact of alignment on ride height is very small. You're likely to see a great difference in ride height from tyre wear.

Worth a look to see if there are any witness marks to indicate that you have been rubbing the tyres. At the front, the wheel arch liners would mark.

I'd be very surprised if you are, unless you've a major problem. If you find any marks (assuming standard wheels/tyres as you don't state), getting the car checked on a ramp would be a priority IMHO.

A more interesting effect in on wheelbase:

Mine was diffrent by 17mm, down to 9mm!

I should check round the backs of your tyres (assuming they're standard too!). Is a brake line/wheelarch liner etc, dislodged?

with Turtle
I have a MY00 with the HUK optimum GEO on it and 18 rims. No lowering along with a muz x brace leaving about 40mm ground clearance. I have never had this problem. I do get rubbing but only of the small plastic guards in front of the wheels when I land after a bump!

Get it checked @ the stealer and/or the peps that did the geo to confirm it is still correct!

total +0.52deg

Geometrical driving axis(trust) +0.03deg

right +4.3deg

K.P.I (kingpin inclination)

The above marking are all in deg with min after the point (.)
If you thing the above settings are somehow bad and that the alignment dude screwed up the car, please let me know

The only thing not standard on the car are the cheap rear tyres running on 245/45 R16 and are 3 weeks old. they are temp tyres until my S02 arrive.

I will have to take it to a garage and check the wheel arches for any evidential proof.

Has the recommended setting changed from the May 2002 values?

Front Castor 6deg45"
Front Camber -1deg 0"
Front Toe 0deg 0"

Rear Camber -2deg 0"
Rear Toe 0deg20"

If not, I think your's is a little out.
