Nah, no FI near the ultimate S2000.

And for it to remain an S2000 it would keep it's 4 cylinder 2litre arrangement as well as the bore stroke ratio.

VTEC would go, custom magnesium/aluminium alloy block, knifed/balanced forged CNC'ed crank, titanium vlaves/ valve springs, retainers, ceramic pistons, titanium rods, fully sequential dual stage high pressure injection combined with full on carbon roller barrel throttles controlled by DBW to provide a rudimentary blown under floor. Carbon pulleys and clutch style alternator to disengage under full throttle, dry sump I'd be looking for ~350bhp at 10,500rpm without nitrous. Smaller carbon clutch to allow engine to be substantially lowered by allowing for smaller bellhousing. Seven speed air operated sequential dog box with carbon bellhousing, Carbon prop/driveshafts. Forged steel bottom arms incorporating an aero profile, forged steel hubs/uprights, carbon upper arms, carbon toe arms, spherical bearings throughout. Aero package consisting of pre windscreen, front 45º mounted aero profiled radiator with exhaust hot air sent out of bonnet (added option of race mode removing radiator all together and using subzero cooled fuel through an internal heat exchanger). Underfloor air will exit through where the boot would have been and blow onto the bottom of the rear wing which will be hydraulically controlled to alter angle of attack in addition to becoming perpendicular to act as an air brake. Rear wheel arches will be covered and front will be covered with an elastic fabric that can be manipulated with an electric motor/rod to allow distortion to avoid steering wheels. Doors will be polystyrene with vacuum formed plastic coating. Front wings will be plastic/carbon. Wheels will be magnesium. Brakes will be carbon ceramic.

OEM dampers....

Keep the soft top?

That's a nerd-alicious parts list/setup, I like it a lot!

Yeah, whilst it would cost a fair bit, some of the items are quite cost effective.

Some of the ideas are pretty standard, some borrowed from other worlds of engineering and some are my own.

That's it really, everyone has a different view of ultimate and the reality is ultimate is in the keys of the beholder if you follow.

I look at that amuse s2000 and think jeez must be aweful with that much rear camber and almost hellaflush front wheels but this is why we modify. We get an idea for what we want in/on our car and get to work, with differing levels of complexity and widely differentiated skill
