Default undersealing

Hey Guys and Girls, People of the Forum!!!

Just wondering how many of you have bothered getting your car undersealed? Because of the salt on the roads at winter (I use the car as my daily driver because love it so much) and don't want to ruin it with rust from the salt.

Is the standard sealant that the S comes from factory with good enough or have some people got some story's where they didn't under seal it now they have rust everywhere?

What is the average price/ good quote for under sealing the S?

Should I defo consider putting this on the car or will it be OK? Just don't want it to rust as planning on keeping it for some time

If getting a specialist to do it mate. Expect to pay anywhere between £250-£400

Really the underneath needs to be degreased, rinsed dried then undersealed.

Reckon it is a smart move to get it done tho or should be fine on the UK roads? Man all this 'surface dressing' they are doing on the roads around by me is me off!

I got my 2001 car done in 2012. Its had an easy life compared to many, no siezed geo bolts.

There was surface rust underneath. Right time to sort it. JR classics in Doncaster. c250-300 notes. Looks great still. Stank for a few months though

So depending on age i'd say yes

If you're anywhere in the south, it would be worthwhile speaking to Julian, aka Doctor MX5 - he's undersealed a fair few S2000s now and is very thorough and very reasonable

He's located in Waltham Chase btw.
