Default Understanding what oil to get

Hi All,

The time has come for a full fluid refresh on my s2000. I'm looking at doing

Engine Oil
Gearbox Oil
Diff Oil
Brake Fluid
Clutch Fluid
Coolant

Now. I know I need to use a Honda Oil filter, and up till recently I used just the standard honda Gearbox + Diff Oil, as well as Clutch fluid and coolant.

What would people recommend I use in each case. The car is used on the track 4-5 times a year, so i'm keen to look after it as best as possible. It would be great if people could confirm quantities of each fluid so when I order I'm not short !

Many Thanks

Gareth

Uh oh, a new oil topic

Worth using the Tech FAQ in this forum, and the search, Gareth! Loads of threads on it (hence the FAQ was made)

FWIW i'm using Castrol engine oil TD 5-40 and Motul for gearbox / diff / brakes.

It's just not the same if we don't have the weekly oil thread.

Not all these questions are answered in the FAQ section though from what ive seen, so you cant be surprised when people ask them.

For example I can't see anywhere where it mentions how much coolant is needed for a system flush?

5.5l for engine oil
.75l for brake fluid
.25l for clutch

Not sure how much coolant is needed, but I think I read on here somewhere its about 6.5litres?

6.5 litres for a coolant change; 7.6 litres total capacity.

Chris.

PS oil and fluid specs./capacities etc should be in your owners manual.
