No idea how well rated that sub is. Can't go wrong with an Alpine HU. However, personally I would recommend separately amping the replacment speakers if you are going to part with a substantial amount of cash on the front speakers. That way you'll get your money's worth and it will sound much better when you turn it up to overcome wind noise at high speed with the roof down. Also consider whether you may upgrade again the future e.g. rear panel speakers. If so you may want to consider either a 4 or 5 channel amp, if the latter, you could make a custom sub enclosure in the tool well and shop around for a well price but highly rated sub which can be driven by the fifth channel.

You can buy my Alpine five channel amp for about

Here's the Alpine 5 channel amp I have at a bargain price (considerably cheaper than everywhere else including Kelk's recommendation (which does have some very keen pricing )

You will also need an Alpine KCE-856B adapter if you want to maintain the use of the dash controls.

seems like most people opt for the Alpine Unit....personally I find the stereo too low down to want to use the controls on the head unit so having the facility to use the dash mounted controls was a real must for me

I've got Infinity speakers powered direct off the H/U....windows up and topless is fine but windows down you lose some volume

It's also worth thinking about making sure that the Alpine HU you choose is going to be iPod controller compatible.

I think as long as they have the fast search buttons you are Ok.

Another good sub to consider is the Panasonic if boot space. Can't remember the model number but IIRC Del ? had one and it fits under the passenger seat.
