Default Uprated retainers

Once I get back from my road trip around France I plan to do some preventative maintenance on my S2000.

Has anyone uprated theirs?

My choices at the moment are either:

new OEM F20C retainers and collets from Hendy (need to get a price from Simon)

new OEM F22 retainers and collets from Hardtopguy

Aftermarket titanium retainers and new OEM collets

Cheaper the better, so I'm thinking OEM F22 kit from here (90-100 pounds delivered I expect):

Once I get around to it I'll take pictures and do a guide incase anyone else wants to attempt it

Any feedback appreciated.

Ben

I just put titanium retainers on my car and got all sorts of info from all over but one person (engine builder) told me not to expect them to last more than 30,000 miles.

IIRC there was a change made to the OEM retainers around about the 04 car that made them thicker and stronger. This was a result of some failures on older cars.

When I changed the cams on my car I went for these newer retainers. There was noticeable stretching on my old set of retainers when they were removed.

Avoid titanium retainers. They weigh less but are brittle and therefore need to be changed every 20k miles or so.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find the part number for the newer retainers on here.

Good info on the titanium variant Cheers.

I've got the part numbers all sorted, looks like the uprated OEM ones will be what I purchase.

Probably end up ordering them through Si at Hendy performance, he has the retainers down at £4 each.

Need to investigate if they are the newer/uprated type.
