Default Usefull Products

When trying to remove my brake discs today,i came into a spot of bother when trying to remove one of the countersink bolts that holds it place.I had tried to crack it a few times with my impact driver and it wasnt budging,i was starting to get hesitant about either ruining my bit or destroying the bolt.Got this stuff from work, its called ''freeze off'' and its made by an irish company called ''Tomac''.Just spray it on for a few seconds, wait about 2 minutes and life should be a lot easier for ya.It works by contracting the metal hence breaking the bond from corrosion or rust etc. I have used this on many applications in work and found it very easy and effective,a much better alternative to heat.Very important to use gloves tho, this stuff can give you frostbite

Is there a thread where members can discuss usefull product or tools they have come across?i think it would be a good idea

I tried something similar on my bike for removing some stubborn bolts - it didn't seem to be any more effective than Plusgas and good old WD40 IMHO.

On a nut and bolt assembly wd 40 is fine, where some of the thread is exposed, but where a bolt is in a component or car part for example it cant always penetrate down through the threads,I had a bushing bolt stuck in my old civic, used wd 40 to no avail.Still stuck.Used the freeze off,put on spanner and cracked it with a hammer, wholla!! Are hondas prone to having suspension bolts seize?? i know a few people who had to get their lower control arms replaced due to seized bolts?

I dont know anyone who stock this unfortunatly or if your able to buy it off the shelf as iv never seen any of their products in a motorfacter or hardware store etc.......One of their sales reps comes round to the company i work for every month and tops up our stock. They do all sorts of products like copper grease, threadlock, adhesives and so on..

But the companys name is Tomac Products Ltd.

I've recently read about a similar product that's commercially available.

Cannot remember where though!

Would it be a good idea to let Chris Franklin know about this stuff? I guess it might help him?

I'd be wary of it making metal more brittle though. Could cause problems
