As a PS to my post above, given that it doesn't cost THAT much more to use SUL than UL, is it really worth saving yourself, say, 7ppl difference x an absolute maximum of 50 litres i.e.

The engine will run on either. But if you read the manual, it specifically says that the car should ideally be filled with 98 RON or better, but that 95 RON will suffice if nothing better is available.

If economy and saving

I run v-power in mine because the shell garage is on my way to work. Also, it is supposed to have varied cleaning agents in it which can't hurt right? Or is that just marketing? Ran a tank of 95 RON the other day and the S seemed to run just fine generally, but didn't idle too well which.

The other point is that I didn't but my S just to scrimp on fuel, I have no issue with running super in it and I do a pretty high mileage. If I want to save and buy regular unleaded then it's time to buy a differnet car in my oppinion.

Marketing is always a tricky busienss but after the news stories a while ago when a dodgy batch of tesco fuel killed a load of cars, I've opted to avoit it anyway.

Personally I use V-Power over anything else... I have used various supermarket fuels in my cars over the years with my daily runaroud (Civic) and I never get as good mileage from them as the big names like Shell, Esso or BP. I tried Tesco 99 with my ITR but personally didn't find it was as good as V-Power. Plus, as been mentioned the cleaning agents are a plus point.

Not noticed any difference in performance between V-Power and Tesco 99. Only difference I am a little concerned with is the octane boost from Teco 99 is achieved with bio-ethanol and not butane derivatives as I imagine V-power is.
