Default Vibrations!

Just recently started to notice a vibration when cruising along at about 80mph. Lower than this and it doesn't seem to happen.

The vibration seems to have a cycle, vibrates for a couple of seconds then stops, then starts again etc, etc. Its most noticeable through the seat, any ideas?

Have read Kobe's thread from yesterday and it doesn't seem the same. Doesn't do it under cornering or hard acceleration, just cruising , part throttle

Tyre pressures are spot on, first thing I checked. A wheel out of balance would vibrate all the time at a certain speed, or am I missing something?

You may not notice it at lower speeds though

I had this - turned out to be a binding brake caliper which needed renewing/rebuilding. I don't think this problem is very rare for the S2000 above a certain age/mileage. Could be worth checking out...

No vibes under braking, just at 80 or so and is really noticeable when the surface is smooth (not that you get that much smooth tarmac in the UK). It's the cycle nature of the thing that has me puzzled!

Are you wearing some Board shorts??

Not as rare as you might think on the rears! Especially with the handbrake left on for long periods!

Have you done your diff oil change yet?

You are right on the mileage at 24K to get it changed, my MY03 is now at 19800 miles but I am going to do the diff and gearbox just for peace of mind.
