Default VX Lightning

Could be real competition for the S2000, almost exactly the same spec (240bhp, front engined, RWD, 0-60 in 6 seconds, top speed 150MPH), same sort of price, similar design.

"Under the long bonnet of the VX Lightning is a new version of Vauxhall

Not too bad - pity about the badge. Quite big wheels - more for posing than performing ?

I read about it in AutoExpress - I think it looks pretty good and I suspect he performance will be better than the S unless it is susbstantially heavier than the VX220 (it isn't clear as to how much bigger the Lightning will be)

Very angular, will be interested to see which bits make it to the final production design. The original S2000 concept had a few more angular bits, and very very low mounted headlights, none of which survived as was in the production model.

Sounds cool tho. Badge wouldnt bother me if it drove well.

Personally I love it to bits and can't wait to see what the final production version will look like. The badge should mean some truely excellent 2nd hand value cars hitting the market after a couple of years post launch; could this be a 3rd car ?

GM has been working on this car for a long time. They new that they could not deliver it quickly to market, so outsourced an intermediate car to Lotus Engineering. Hence the VX220, an Elise with free access to the GM parts bin. A lot of time and effort has gone into the new car and should be very interesting.

Honda should take note and keep the S up to date.

More , and .

Cheers, Kev

Wait till it's available from Ireland then buy it as a RHD Opel. Cheaper than UK most likely and not a Vauxhall.
