Well they rang me when I was at work, so will have to wait til I get home to check the service manual etc. Hopefully something is in this....

I will have to look through all my documents.

Won't your v5 detail the name and address of the previous owner - you could write to them (or even pay a surprise visit!) and ask about the origins of the car

Thats true...didn't even think about that. Will have to give him a call. Will check what documents I have, then may take that option. Thanks for the reminder.

There is an odd thing, where EU-sourced cars don't show up on the HUK d-base.

If the dealer re-enters the VIN, it's all OK IME.

But every time I went to another dealer, it had disappeared again.

You need to turn up with the original docs & they re-enter it.

No, it seems to 'stick' in the dealer's server, but not get through to other dealers.

So you should only have to do it once per dealer.

I did get all my warranty work done OK.

Right have spoken to HUK who are going to send me a pack which allows me to obtain the certificate of conformity from them.

Right now its just the bill of sale....I have just been talking to the dealer who did all the services prior to me buying this car for the guy who had it before me and he, like myself cannot understand why they want the bill of sale so much. It makes no difference other than the fact of where it was bought!

The annoying thing is that the guy actually remembered the guy, as he was a regular customer, but they have no existing details other than his address which I already have.

The Honda guy reckons that if I keep on and on at HUK they may give up, as it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I believe it's simply for the date the warranty should start - date of sale to customer!

It has that in the service manual. But its not stamped, it has just been written in which is a little annoying.
