Default Wee bit of a problem - left sidelight

Hi, I've had a wee problem crop up with my S2000 - the front left sidelight no longer illuminates. I tend to jump to the worst possible scenario, so am imaginging the cost of a complete headlight unit replacement (seems to be £700ish?!), but you might have some suggestions that are more simple and less expensive? I've not had a chance to poke about in there yet, so to speak, how easy is changing bulbs etc.? I am having a service done tomorrow so might ask the guys to have a wee look.

Thanks in advance.

Surely the first thing to check is the bulb?

I'm afraid you'll need a whole new car. Can't be saved.

Either that or it's the bulb.

Ballast ... for a sidelight?

Bulb / connnector - that's it. There are no contacts for that on the light unit!!

As changing the bulb etc. requires taking the arch liner off, I'd go with your plan "A", get them to sort it at the service, they will have the wheel off at some point at it will be a whole lot easier for them to do it.
Don't bother checking the fuse as it supplies all four sidelights.
