Just about to install an apexi vafc2 and when un bolting the ecu i noticed this under the carpet and i dont know what it is

If it's a japanese spec, it might be a speed limiter remover

Where does the wire from it go?

 

Whatever it is, it's definitely aftermarket. Looks like it's a controller for something. anything written on it or stamped in it?

 

Movement sensor for an aftermarket alarm ?

 

If it has "Pandora" written in it leave well alone!

Seriously you need to trace where the wires go to have any idea, check the colours if you can and see if you can find the same pair looking out of place around the loom somewhere, and see what connector they go into.

Possible candidates,
part of an after market alarm
speedo adjuster for an aftermarket diff
not a JDM limiter remover or KPH to MPH box (as said above)
Transmitter for a tracker

Until you know where it goes you (and us) can only guess.

 

Nothing written on it at all just aluminium casing with sealed ends with 2 wires comming out of it and connected straight to the ecu loom, i will get some better pictures tonight and find out which wires its tapped into
