Default What to buy

Hi after owning a top spec import Prelude for the last three years I am now looking to buy an s2000 for obvious reasons. I do have a few questions that I hope you guys can help with.

Being used to imported cars I will probably import an s2000 myself as this will save me a lot of money and I can prepare the car for sva myself and get assistance with the other paperwork.

Im not sure what you could actually say is the best S2000 to buy as I notice some differences in suspention set up over the years which ive heard is a good thing. I will mostly be driving the car fairly fast and so I would prefer a harder ride as long as it handles better (i will probably buy coilovers at some point anyway)

Really im just looking for advice from S2k owners as to what I should buy.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

Good route if you are happy with JDM's

Your best bet is an 02/03 with the glass rear screen.

Be very careful importing a +04 car, the SVA report for that age car does not exist You will end up putting bumpers, lights, ecu, alloys etc from an earlier car on it to get it through

Do a search on JDM for loads more info!

Can't see much financial sense importing one when UK cars are pretty cheap without the hassle and potentially higher insurance, just IMO though

Didn't seem to make financial sense to me, which is why I bought a JDM here.

Hi,

Try one before you go any further!

It's so very different from a 'Lude, it may come as something of a shock!

But did you have the extra cost of getting the car SVA'd or had that already been done?

I think thats what he is alluding to...

I agree, get one of the many already on sale here, either JDM or Euro or UK, later two pretty much identical but Euro should be cheaper as it was originally cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

IMO, I think this is your best bet.

The front end is already nicely stiffened. Just needs some springs (if you wanna go that way), and there's no messing around with the imports etc.

No - I bought a JDM that had been imported 2 years before. I looked at importing, but it seems they're fairly desierable in Japan and that keeps the prices up (look at the sale price, not the auction start price that the likes of Banzai like to advertise). Back in November, to get a good one I reckoned on about
