A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said: "A car is a dangerous lump of metal in the wrong hands.
I think that she meant to say that the driver was a dangerous lump.

When I mention to my g/f about doing her make up whilst driving, she makes out like I'm the one in the wrong!

I might forward this on to her as a warning.

A few years ago, it would've been considered slobbish.

The way some drive, maybe they mistakenly believe they're sitting on the toilet instead.

Much as I agree that what she was doing was a bad thing, I didn't realise it was a legal requirement to have at least one hand on the wheel at all times, which is what this implies?

Not sure how it's definied but you have a duty to be in control of the car when it's moving, I remember a case where a chap was done for eating whilst stopped in traffic - reason being he didn't have his handbrake on or something.
