Default What Material

I've been experimenting with an air feed I made, so far it seems to be having the desired effect dropping IAT's wise .

However when having a similar thing in the past i notice the filter gets shit up quicker, so i want to minimise this if possible without restricting flow 'too much'. The plan is to have a disc that slots into the pipe and can be easily removed and cleaned thus catching some crap before it sticks on the air filter itself.

I see people use hydroshields etc for an AEM intake and I'm wondering if there is any thing/material i can buy that will a) act a filter and b) not restrict flow that much.

Cheers

Surely your air filter-filter is going to get clogged up instead?

That's the idea, rather that than the 'foam' filter itself, there is already a natural feed from the hole in the fender wall.

It will be a 1min job to clean the disc.

How about one of THESE ? It's a fine steel mesh that you might be able to cut down.

Should be good for bees and larger particles.

EDIT - You can buy these in most supermarkets and home stores if you need one in a huury.

That mesh is too fine and will kill the airflow.

I can send you some fairly high flow paint stop filter if you want.

Thanks guys.

Steve, thanks for the tip regarding the stocking, my GF doesn't wear them often but I'm sure she has some.

Lower, thanks for the offer but what exactly is this 'high flow paint' stop?

Thanks
