Default What year got traction control?

I notice that some 2006 models and up say they have traction control. Was this only for 2006+ or was it optional on some older facelifts?

Standard on MY06 and up. Wasn't an option before then.

Pretty sure it was an option from MY06 all the way to MY09, and standard from then onwards. (I think!)

No you don't, they fail and cost you £X,XXX, Honda don't warrantee them and if it doesn't work it's an MOT fail. Learn to drive the S without it, it's not so hard.

There was a link only days ago to a uk company that sells refurb units for £150

I did and still do want it. I have it off on track now I have learnt the car. On the road in my opinion if vsa is stepping in you are driving too aggressively for public roads unless you are deliberately trying to have some fun on a roundabout or similar, and then it is just a switch to flick.

Individual wheel braking can really repoint the car. On the car limits day i forgot to turn it off for one run, even though i had nailed the manual recovery technique on the high speed corner, the vsa had kicked in and corrected the car perfectly just as my brain was processing the information that the car was starting to spin and was about to turn it into action on the steering wheel, I didn't get time to turn the wheel as it totally beat me to it.

I dont care about the silly stigma having vsa seems to attract, it certainly helped me find the limits of the car safely when I did my first few track days

Not true. Honda do fix them under warranty. Indeed, several people here have had them fixed. A read of this thread shows it's covered under extended warranty too: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/813...module-failure

I believe VSA became available the same MY the road tax goes crazy. Part of a government scheme to identify big puffs and tax them off the road
