Default Wheel Bearinqgs

Well , one or both my rear wheel bearings are noisy , so the question is has any one managed to drift them out of the hubs or is it definelty a case of press them out ,

Getting the new ones back should be ok , bearing in freezer and hub housing in the oven ! We will see

Chances are the noise in the end. Is something else anyway , but on axle stands it certainly sounded like the wheel bearings even though they felt ok.

What's going on? Something on this thread triggered one of my alerts - keywords 'freezer' and 'oven'.

I did both of my rear bearings recently and they were tight, I think you will struggle without a press to be honest... If you lived near me I would lend you the use of my press... Keep the old bearing to press the new one in with, but I'm sure you know that

Will most likely get Toby to take them to work to do I am sure with Cook and freeze they will fit ok , will get hub assemblies off first, then see what happens.

Thanks for the offer Carbon as you say a bit far !

Take them to a local back street garage and either get them to do it on their press or borrow their press and then bung them a few beer tokens.

No worries chip, your the one that inspired me to do my restoration so the loan of a press is no bother, it's been one of the best experiances and makes you realise you can do more than you realise if you give it a go.
