Default Wheel refurb

Hi, been mulling over whether to get my 16" OEMs refurbed in a darker colour for a while now and finally got it done last week...

Got it done at the Wheel Specialists in Fareham who had a few good reviews on Pistonheads. More expensive than some but the finish is perfect and the service really good (dropped the car off at half nine in the morning and it was all done by half four). Plus to help decide on colours they've got a load of wheels that you can prop up against your car. So, if anyone is looking to get their wheels refurbed I can definitely recommend them. If anyone's interested I went for their M1 colour

I got a quote from them as they are fairly local to me, but TBH the prices just put me off making a decision. Their quality does seem good and I had prompt communication from them but I'm still undecided if that's enough for me to go with them.

Were they able to paint your centre caps the same colour ?

Yes they painted the centre caps the same colour. As for the quote, my initial one that I got through the website was way too high. They then called me and offered to do it for £60-70 pounds less (£280 ish in the end), plus if you go on their mailing list they'll start sending you special offers. My lowest quote was £200 from a bodyshop that I've used before, but that wasn't powder coating and they just never answer their phone hence why I paid a bit extra to go with WS.

Cheers for the info, I'll sign up to their mailing list at least. I have a friend that had her Cooper S wheels re-done there and she was really pleased with the service and finish too - so there's a lot going for them. I just need to get my 17" in the same ball park as your 16"

Did that inlcude the club discount?

I want to get my wheels done but i#m having difficulty finding somewhere that can do al l4 in a day.

I assuming they remove the tyres and then refit and rebalance?

I've used them twice. The same day service so you don't lose your car or have it up on bricks for a week, or have to mess around getting tyres removed and re-fitted, is well worth the money, and they do an excellent job.

Visit 1: Gloss black on my original 04/05 OEMs
Visit 2: 'Chrome' (looks like polished alloy) on 06/07 OEMs

for the Wheels Specialists Fareham.

Dammit you lot - I'm having a lean month as it is, now I'm going to end up with a chrome refurb (either that or as close to OEM silver with a hefty bit of flake in it)

The chrome powder coat finish isn't like gangsta-bling chrome plate. It's about as close to OEM diamond cut as a paint finish can be.......
