Default Wheel Rot

I've just took my 05 in for it's first service (5500miles) and they're replacing all the wheels because of corrosion. Surely Honda should have got this right by now?

How bad were they? My centre caps are definitely corroded and I think I have the beginnings of corrosion on the wheels themselves (also an 05)

There's no problem with the centre caps, the problem seems to be at the rear of the "spokes"

What do they do with all the wheels that are taken off?

Do you mean the insides of the wheels? I was told that Honda will only change your wheels once the corrosion reaches the face of the wheel

What I meant was it is on the side of the spokes at the rear edge. If that makes sense?

I've got a similar problem on my 04. The hub caps have rotted through and are in the process of being replaced.

As for the wheels, they are really tarnished and rotting behind the spokes. The face is beginning to bobble up. I mentioned this at my service and the guy said they were stone chips! Rubbish.

Anyway, I'm keeping an eye on them and will defo be back before the end of my warranty to give it another go if they get any worse.
